I’m a public servant at heart and a practitioner of good government. As your Northwest District Councilmember, I will bring integrity and a deep commitment to the residents I serve. I’m greatly concerned about the state of our neighborhoods and will work tirelessly to:
- Improve housing and increase homeownership; everyone deserves quality housing and safe neighborhoods regardless of income.
- Provide more subsidized, newly constructed and rehabilitated houses so people with low incomes can begin to build wealth.
- Help current homeowners maintain their properties through grants, low-interest loans, and assistance with utilizing the state’s Historic Preservation Tax Credit and other programs.
- Transform streets by making vacant lots work for us.
- Community gardens, pocket parks and treed lots.
- Ensure youth programs are accessible throughout the Northwest, eliminating gaps in service.
- Invest in programs for children and adults that increase their opportunity for educational and employment success.
- Reduce gun violence and crime.
- Support gang intervention and diversion programs.
- Provide necessary resources to solve shooting and homicide cases.
- Promote an antiracist police department, make sure domestic violence gains attention, and continue expanding mental health solutions.
- Ensure the success of the Police Accountability Board and its mission.
- Provide excellent oversight of the city’s finances.
- Invest in keeping our streets free of litter and graffiti.
- Update water and sewer lines.
- Accelerate the replacement of trees.
- Increase air quality, cool neighborhoods, and strengthen property values.
